In the process of remodeling my bonus room, I realized how much empty space was taken up by two bookshelves. I took measurements of the books, and created this bookcase to perfectly fit all the books we had, while minimizing negative space. I really love how the black legs and hardware contrast the bright pine wood. I had a lot of fun with this project as it wasn't too difficult to design and assemble- like my desk. It was a refreshing creative break from traditional mediums especially since I just finished my bee-drawing.
Dsause- Physics 1 Final
This is my final project for Physics 1. We were allowed to do anything we wanted to, about any physics topic we wanted to- so I made a Vsause video with the material covered in Physics 1!
Protein Model
This was part of an event for the Protein Modeling event in Science Olympiad. The only required parts of the model were the yellow tuber and the blue and red end caps; I had fun with the rest. I really love how the metal and wood materials complement the foam tuber, and make it seem a lot more sophisticated. Thanks to Ms. Purtee for letting me use her resin.
Desk
My first dive into furniture making! It took me just under a year to complete- from drawing to desk, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I ended up overbrushing the finish on the table top, so there are a few bubbles trapped underneath the finish. Writing this about a year after it was completed and some of the finish has even worn off. I definitely should have used Polyacrylic. The Polyurethane left a slight yellow tint on the white parts of the desk which isn't idea- but its not too noticeable anyway. It's the perfect size for my room, and it can hold both my computer and an art project simultaneously.
